The Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, established in 1943, is one of the premier interpreters of the Russian Classic composers. The orchestra, consisting principally of international competition winners, has been showered with particular acclaim for its interpretations of works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky. The concert also features award-winning violinist Jennifer Koh, whose free-spirited style impressed The New York Times, which applauds “her fiery, rhapsodic playing.”
