Arts Ambassador

The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) has more than 500 community volunteers known as Arts Ambassadors. Each year, Arts Ambassadors donate thousands of hours in support of the CCPA and its programs.

The CCPA recruits new Arts Ambassadors annually at the beginning of the season. New Arts Ambassadors must attend the Arts Ambassador Academy before serving as a volunteer. The Arts Ambassador Academy provides opportunities to learn about the CCPA and duties of Arts Ambassadors.

Arts Ambassador Academy

The Arts Ambassador Academy is a comprehensive training and development program designed to give Arts Ambassadors the guidance and support needed to perform their duties while enhancing their volunteer experience. The Academy consists of a full day of seminars on topics such as customer service, ushering and directing patrons, emergency procedures, and more.

Eligibility and Participation Requirements

Due to demand, Cerritos residents are given priority enrollment in the Arts Ambassador program. Potential Arts Ambassadors must be at least 16 years old, able to stand for extended periods of time, and be comfortable with stairs. The CCPA requires that each Arts Ambassador enroll for the duration of the season and be available to serve as an usher at least three times per month.

Application Process

To become an Arts Ambassador, complete an enrollment application and return it to the CCPA. Applicants will be contacted during the annual recruitment period and invited to the Arts Ambassador Academy held at the beginning of the season. Space in the Academy is limited. Applicants who do not meet the current eligibility requirements will be placed on a waiting list and contacted when a position is available.
